What is Google Adwords?

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

You may be wondering how I can talk about an online business generating money immediately. It’s really an easy concept. The internet is open 24-hours a day and during that time, there are people all over the world who are constantly searching for some form of information.

There are advertising programs out there that allow a person to buy traffic and within a matter of minutes, there will be a steady stream of visitors going to the target website. The largest of these programs is Google Adwords and through this pay-per-click advertising platform, it is possible to instantly be listed at the top of the search results for certain keyword terms.

The way that Adwords works for us is like this: an internet marketer signs up on the Google website, decides which keywords they want to draw traffic from and then they decide how much they are willing to pay for the service. Obviously, the more one pays, the more raw traffic they will generate, but online marketing success is not just about volume. You want to get visitors to your website who are acutely interested in the products or services that you are marketing.

Mastering Google Adwords does take a little bit of time and it is basically a process of trial-and-error. Believe me, I made plenty of mistakes when I first started out and that is why I am always available to make sure that others do not fall into the same traps that I did. The biggest problem that most new marketers have with pay-per-click is that they spend too much money on certain highly sought-after keywords. There are some tricks to using Google Adwords to effectively make money online and one of the keys is to figure out how to get the most targeted traffic to your website for the least amount of money.

Like I said, I am here to help. But the bottom line is this: Google Adwords will send visitors to your website right away and if they are interested in what you are offering, they will buy it. This is exactly how you can make money immediately with a solid marketing program like mine.

What Does “Conversion Rate” Mean?

Monday, December 28th, 2009

I know that a lot of new marketers are intimidated by all the lingo that gets thrown around in the world of online marketing. Sure, some of this jargon is not all that important, but a term that should always be coveted is “conversion rate.”

A conversion rate is a percentage that corresponds to how many visitors a web site must receive before a sale, or conversion, is made. By understanding what a conversion rate means, it is possible to develop strategies that will make money.

Let me try to explain this in as simple of terms as possible. Let’s say I am running a campaign on Google Adwords that directs people to my Lazy Cash Formula Web site. For example’s sake, let’s say that for every 100 clicks I buy, I make one conversion. That would mean that I have a 1% conversion rate.

Now, it becomes time to analyze the data. If it costs me $15 for every 100 click and I make $20 in profit from every conversion, I am making $5 in profit per conversion through this campaign. The most important concept to keep in mind is that my traffic must be of good quality and targeted if I want to maintain this rate. This means that I cannot just go buy cheap, non-targeted traffic and expect to see the same conversion rate.

The longer a campaign runs, the more important the conversion rate becomes. If I can maintain a 1% conversion rate on this campaign for a month, there is little doubt that the campaign is effective. At that point, I can increase my traffic through that campaign and I will make exponentially more money, with no added risk.

Hopefully I have helped people understand the importance of learning about conversion rates. This little piece of data can go a long way in developing pay-per-click strategies that are sure to make money.

How to Drive Free Traffic to your Website

Friday, December 25th, 2009

I know I talk a lot about Google Adwords and pay-per-click advertising – there is a good reason for that. Purchasing traffic allows a marketer the opportunity to instantly get exposure for their website and pay-per-click programs make it possible to earn money right away. Still, there are ways to drive free traffic to your site. Although these techniques take a bit of upfront work – not a lot of work or I wouldn’t be doing them – the visitors you will get because of these efforts will almost always be ready to buy.

Article marketing and writing in a blog is a great way to drive free traffic to a website. There are tons of free blog and article submission websites and the traffic that comes as a result of using these resources is highly targeted – this is because your words have piqued an interest and the readers are eager to learn more. It takes some time to write a quality article, but the results are well worth the efforts involved.

Forums are another great place for marketers to generate free traffic. There are hundreds of appropriate forums to be found online and by posting interesting comments in relevant discussions, you will gain the respect of the community. Soon, the forum’s members and readers will want to learn more about what you are all about, so they will go to your website. You should post a link to your site in your signature line immediately after joining a forum.

Offline efforts are also an effective way to obtain free traffic. Talking to friends or associates about your site never hurts. Plus, you can hang fliers and pass out business cards in strategic locations. The visitors that come to your site because of offline efforts are pre-qualified, so this means that a high percentage of them will make a purchase.

There are many other ways to drive free traffic to your website like online classified, advertising sites and by learning search engine optimization techniques, but the above-mentioned strategies are a good place to start. A successful marketer will take advantage of many different methods to obtain traffic as a successful online business boils down to a numbers game – the more targeted traffic you generate, the more money you will make.

How to Quickly Drive Traffic to Your Website

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Many people get so pumped up about starting their own online business that they are at a loss when the time comes to actually start making money. The first step in this process is to gain a thorough understanding of the type of business they are conducting. For the most part, this should have been done during the evaluation phase. The second step is to begin driving traffic to their business’ website. This can be done in several ways and by implementing these steps; one can start generating an income right away.

I may sound like a broken record, but Google Adwords is such a great tool for quickly driving traffic to a website. It takes mere minutes to set up and once the appropriate keywords are chosen, a steady stream of traffic will begin to be directed towards a site. Through the process of learning the intricacies of Adwords, extremely targeted traffic can be obtained, but this takes a bit of practice to achieve. In the interim, a person can use this program right after they get their website running to gain exposure and start making sales.

After a marketer has commenced Google Adwords, they should start a viral marketing campaign. I know, this sounds like a disease, but really, all viral marketing is about is creating a buzz surrounding your site. The best way to do this is to email every contact that you know and tell them why you are very excited about your new business. Make sure to tell your contacts to let others know about your website and before long, the site will be inundated with traffic.

There is no time like the present, they say, and to wait any longer than necessary before driving traffic to a website ends up wasting money. The quicker that people know you are in business, the quicker you will start making money, so it is critical to implement the steps mentioned above expediently.

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Basically, any sales type of job could be considered affiliate marketing. The overall concept revolves around a business owner compensating their affiliates for generating sales or leads. Because of the internet, affiliate marketers now have many different options when it comes to making an income through their marketing efforts. There are literally thousands of affiliate programs available online and some pay marketers for directing prospective customers to a website, while others reward their affiliates after they make a sale.

I may be a tad bit biased, but I think that I have the best affiliate program out there. Most of you know about my Lazy Cash Formula where I will teach anyone how to make a ton of money on the internet. What you may not have known is that there is an affiliate marketing program that accompanies the Lazy Cash Formula. Basically, I give my affiliates a percentage of the money generated when they send a potential customer to my website and that person ends up buying my product.

The best affiliate programs create a win-win situation. I love affiliate marketing because I can sit back and spend time with my family while others market my product. My affiliates love the program because I give them all the marketing tools they will need like sample emails, banner ads and advertising text, so that they really do not have to do much except maybe put a link to my website on their website. Or they may send out a few of the emails I give them and they may want to put up banner ad in a few strategic spots.

Once an affiliate makes a sale, I give them a large percentage of what is grossed. The biggest winner in all of this is the person who ends up purchasing the Lazy Cash Formula. That individual should thank the affiliate who let them know about my system because now they will learn my secrets to making a substantial online income with very little effort. So, I guess the best affiliate marketing programs are win-win-win.

Why isn’t Network Marketing as Good as Affiliate Marketing

Friday, December 18th, 2009

I know a bunch of network marketers who are great at what they do. These guys are always on the phone or computer and they never pass up a chance to tell someone about the great opportunity they are involved in. Network marketing is an effective way to make money, but the sad fact is: almost everyone who tries this type of program will inevitably fail. This is because it takes a rare personality-type to succeed in network marketing.

For those of you who are new to marketing and the whole online wealth-creation world, it is important to focus on a business that will allow you to learn without risk and achieve success right away. Most network marketers will not fully explain how hard it really is to recruit others to join a company. It takes boatloads of time and energy to get just one person in your downline and then your success is directly tied into your downline’s efforts. I like to have more control of the businesses I am involved in.

Affiliate marketing is simple. It is not difficult to find a good product, you can use the internet to let others know about your product and you will make money if you take the time to market correctly. I know I do not feel comfortable selling the latest and greatest product or service to my friends and family. I doubt that you would feel comfortable with this concept right away, either. Most affiliate marketing programs let you work at your own pace from the comfort of your computer and because you are telling, not selling, there is no rejection to worry about. Almost all network marketing companies are expensive to join because you have to buy a bunch of products, where most affiliate programs cost nothing to join.

I recommend finding a good affiliate program like mine to begin with (I had to throw in a shameless plug – I’m sorry) and learn the ropes of how the process really works. Network marketing companies are great at hyping you up, but ask yourself where they will be a few weeks after you join? More than likely you will be left on your own with a bunch of cheesy products. Trust me, this is not a fun position to be in and you are much better off finding an affiliate program that offers marketing materials and a quality product.

How Does Network Marketing Work?

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

It drives me nuts when I try to explain network marketing to someone and they instantly say “Oh, that’s just a pyramid-scheme”. This type of ignorance and narrow-minded thinking displays exactly why most people do not make a lot of money in their lives. A “pyramid-scheme” is something that is illegal and eventually collapses, whereas, network marketing is a proven business model endorsed by finance giants such as Warren Buffet and Donald Trump. These guys do things by the book and they both own several network marketing companies.

So here is how network marketing works in overly simplistic terms:

1. A person joins a network marketing company which often involves purchasing products or services along with paying to join up.

2. This person now can generate an income in several ways. The most lucrative way foe someone to make money with network marketing is to recruit others to be in their downline. Then, they make money off of their downline’s efforts. It is important to train one’s downline. A marketer should also market the products or services their company offers to earn a secondary income.

3. Once a network marketer has a large downline, they can relax and make a passive income through the efforts of those whom they have recruited.

Those are my favorite two words in the English Language: “passive income“. This is why I like network marketing so much – it’s the perfect business for someone who is lazy, like me. But as you can see, network marketing is very simple and it harnesses the power of a network of people in a way in which everyone can prosper.

Network marketing does get a bad rap occasionally, but some of the most successful companies in the world are network marketing companies. By using the power of the internet, it is possible to recruit people into your downline without having to talk to anyone in person. Now, that is a concept I can really get excited about.

The Top Five Mistakes That Affiliates Make

Monday, December 14th, 2009

When I first got involved in affiliate marketing, I made every mistake in the book. It is still tough to recall those times when I thought I was being smart or clever and a hasty decision ended coming back to bite me in the behind. When I finally started my own company, I was determined to help others avoid the pitfalls that plagued me during my early marketing days, so I have comprised a list of the top five mistakes affiliates make.

1. Working the wrong program

With so many affiliate programs out there, it is easy to join one that isn’t worth your time. It is best to start by doing as much research as possible on the company you plan on joining. Be sure to find a program that offers marketing tools and provides plenty of personal support.

2. Spending too much money on advertising

It is easy to throw money at an affiliate program, but this is often counterproductive. Start out slow with your marketing efforts until you get a good feel of how things work. Raw traffic rarely results in conversions, so do the work necessary to drive targeted traffic to your site.

3. Losing focus

People join affiliate programs to make money and this should always be in a marketer’s mind. If you spread yourself too thin, it is hard to remember what the primary objective of your business is.

4. Forgetting to work

If you treat your business like a business, you will make money. If you treat your business like a hobby, well, you know the rest. Making money always takes work, so by becoming efficient with your efforts, over time, you can decrease the number of hours that you spend tending to your business. Some companies will have you believe that the more you give them, the more you will make, but it doesn’t really work this way.

5. Losing confidence

If you don’t believe in yourself, it shows. No one wants to do business with someone who lacks confidence, so you must always believe that you will succeed.

Of course, the biggest mistake many affiliates make is that they waste too much time. When you are working, be sure to work. There is always something that needs to be done when running a business. If you are just starting out and you find yourself wondering what to do, it is time to seek guidance and ask questions.

Joel Johnson has Too Much Free Time

Monday, December 7th, 2009

It’s about time that everyone gets a break, and I hope that the information on my website (www.lazycashformula.com) has given many of you the understanding that it is possible to make insane amounts of cash on the internet. Believe me, I have sat in that same chair, staring at the computer screen just hoping that some sort of internet guardian angel would swoop down and make my troubles disappear. It didn’t quite happen exactly like that, but I was motivated to find a way to get my piece of the internet wealth pie that everyone was talking about.

Are You Tired of Taking Home a Small Paycheck?

There is nothing like the feeling one gets when they realize they are slaving for someone else only to take home a small paycheck. Then, the majority of that money goes right out the door to pay someone else for the exceedingly high living-expenses we all deal with. It’s hard to get up in the morning just knowing that you will be no better off and a lot more tired when you get home in the evening.

Finally, I had a break-through. I discovered affiliate marketing. No longer would I have to invest one red cent in products or expensive websites – I could make a tidy profit selling other people’s merchandise while letting them worry about overhead.

Of course, I started out making every mistake in the book, but I was determined. You have all read my website, so I will not repeat the details. All I can say is: wow. I cannot believe I am sitting here typing this without a monetary care in the world. I’m not the smartest guy and I’m definitely not the best looking guy, but let me tell you: anyone with the desire to learn and the ability to follow directions can be in my position in no time at all.

It’s an amazing feeling when one’s biggest concern revolves around whether to pick sun or snow this Christmas, or what color car at least makes me appear a little bit more attractive. Of course, money is not the answer to everything, but boy does it help. I am blessed with a great family, and the fact that I get to spend as much time as I want to enjoying their company is worth the bumpy road it took to get to this point.

Don’t just sit there agonizing about your job and money for your whole life – do something. Whether or not you want to try my Lazy Cash Formula is up to you, but if you decide to pass, please keep trying. Time is something that a guy can never have enough of, and once it’s gone, it’s gone. Life is too short to spend it worrying, so take some initiative, get out of your comfort-zone and do something new. I did, and look at me now. My greatest possession is time – for that I am eternally grateful.
